Focus. I'm looking for some.
Stephanie, whose beautiful Sock Yarn Blanket I linked to in yesterday's post, was kind enough to leave a message on my blog:
If I had as much active knitting going on as you do.....I'd NEVER have finished that blanket!!!
She makes an excellent point. Flitting from project to project has always been my tendency, which is why WIPs accumulate and I can go months without getting anything off the needles. So this month, I've decided to focus on two (and only two) projects:
1. Sock Yarn Blanket
2. Socks
The girls over at Team Michigan decided that they didn't want to go their separate ways after these Ravellenics, so we're having a couple of KALs to coincide with March Madness.

The idea of WIPs Madness is to finish as any WIPs as possible within the month of March. Race to the Final Four Rows is for sweater knitting. I'm participating in WIPs Madness, and I'm working on The Blanket. That's it. I'm not setting any other goals right now, because then I'll lose focus and won't accomplish anything. I've got 68 more squares to knit, and I might not finish The Blanket, and even if I DO finish it I'm sure that I won't be the one who gets the most projects off the needles, but what an accomplishment it would be anyway.
The Blanket is way too big to drag around, so I'm choosing socks (what else?) for my second project.

One of my other goals this year is to complete twelve pairs of socks before the end of the year. This is my third time participating in the 12 Socks KAL, and I've never completed more than nine pairs in a year. Each month, our fearless leader Patty Joy posts a few different themes we can choose from. This month, one of the themes is "Go for the green." It is March, after all. But I didn't pick that theme because of St. Patty's Day; I picked it because The Big Dance is coming up, and my Spartans need all the encouragement they can get (even if it's just the juju that comes from knitting green socks).
I'm off to work on The Blanket. See? I'm focused. Like a laser.
