Well, 2014 is nearly here. I can't believe that this December marks my sixth year of knitting! I still love it as much as I always have, even though I haven't managed to churn out as many projects this year as I have in years past.
Being the moderator of a few "alongs" on Ravelry means that I have been closing out the 2013 discussion threads and starting new ones for 2014. As I take inventory of what I've accomplished and what I want to do in the New Year, I find myself setting goals. Here are my knitting goals for this year.
Do you have knitting goals for 2014? If so, I would love to hear them!

- Continue SBSMABAL (Slowly-but-Surely-Making-a-Blanket-Along). I’ve got five blankets on the needles right now. I plan to tackle these blankets in the order they were cast on, starting with my Sock Yarn Blanket, which was cast on in August 2008. Yes, it’s going on six years. Sad, sad, sad.
- Work on only two projects at a time. A major problem of mine is finishing objects because I have too many things going at once. One of my two active projects will be a WIP left over from 2014 (until these are gone). The other will be a new project. Hopefully, this will help me avoid startitis because I will have a new project on the needles at all times.
- Continue cold sheeping. Continue to buy as little yarn as possible. Yarn-buying fever (YBF, and there is no vaccination for it, unfortunately) seems to hit me about every three to four months. If I give in, mindful purchasing only! For the first quarter, absolutely no yarn buying at all!
- End the year with at least 24 finished objects.
- Continue to participate in UILI (Use It or Lose It), although this year, only count yarns used, not yarns destashed.
- Knit 12 pairs of socks.
- Actually finish my Ravellenics project(s) this year. I will be captaining Team Michigan again, and although I had a blast last time, I didn't manage to medal!
